Dr. Stokes, Dr. Harmon, and their children welcome you to be treated like one of the family
at Michigan City Dental, P.C.!

Faye C. Stokes, DDS

Dr. Faye Stokes was born and raised in Michigan City. She joined the staff at Michigan City Dental, P.C. in 2002 as an assistant to her father, now retired Dr. Thomas Stokes II. Under his supervision, she learned from his over 35 years of experience and advanced education. She went on to earn her undergraduate degree focused in Nutrition Science as a prestigious Indiana University Cox Scholar and Honors Scholar, and then to earn her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2014, also at Indiana University. While studying dentistry she met and fell in love with her study partner, Dr. Shane Harmon. Together they returned to Michigan City Dental P.C.

Dr. Stokes is committed to a holistic, patient-centered approach to dentistry. With her degree in nutrition, additional minors in psychology, biology, and chemistry, and her additional training through the American Academy of Facial Esthetics she combines an understanding of a patient’s dental and medical needs with their desires for achieving a healthy and beautiful smile.

Dr. Stokes is skilled in computerized 3-D scanning and design, combining artistry with science so that her patients can have a comfortable experience while being an active part in the planning and design of their smiles. As an Associate Fellow of the Academy of GP Orthodontics, she has trained over the course of several years to utilize braces and clear aligners to help growing young smiles and to restore well-loved smiles.

As a mother of two, Dr. Stokes includes children’s dentistry as a wonderful part of her practice. Children’s dentistry involves an understanding of teeth as well as growth and emotional development. It’s always fun to empower our youngest patients in the care of their healthy bodies.

Dr. Stokes’s community involvement includes a long history of being a mentor for the Non-Traditional Employment for Women Workshops provided by the A.K. Smith Center for young girls in our community. Michigan City Dental began as a small dental practice started by Dr. Wayne Dunlop in 1952. He rented out a suite in a building on 10th street until he was joined by Dr. John Daher in 1958. The photo shows Dr. Wayne and Jeri Dunlop (L) and Dr. John and Maureen Daher (R) enjoying time together that year. Both doctors have since passed on, but we continue to hear wonderful stories about them from our longtime patients.
